I began my journey as a beekeeper in 2015, and over the past decade, my passion has grown alongside a deepening concern for honeybee survival and the sustainability of our industry. I've come to fully appreciate the crucial role these remarkable creatures play in pollinating the crops that feed our world.

This concern led me to found Bee Cube®, where we're dedicated to developing new beekeeping technologies and innovations. I believe our industry stands to benefit greatly from advancements in several key areas:

Firstly, I'm working on improved hive monitoring systems that will allow us to better track bee health. I'm also exploring new, sustainable methods to control pests and diseases that threaten our colonies. Another focus of mine is developing technologies for more efficient queen rearing and breeding programs.

Perhaps closest to my heart is the design of hives optimized for bee health and productivity. I'm convinced that by creating environments that truly cater to the needs of our bees, we can make significant strides in both their wellbeing and the productivity of our apiaries.

Through Bee Cube®, I hope to contribute meaningful solutions to the challenges facing our industry, ensuring a thriving future for both honeybees and beekeepers.

I have worked primarily in the public sector throughout my career, in particular, at the

University of the Fraser Valley, where I served as a faculty member and then as a departmental director, focussing on access to literacy and post secondary credentials for marginalized individuals and groups.

Like many others, I have been concerned by the acceleration of global bee death, and, like

many others, have felt that there was nothing I could do as an individual to reverse a trend

which will significantly impoverish our global food supply. Here in Alberta, Beekeeping

Innovations is countering this trend with the development of the Bee Cube® and Be the Bee™ Hive Management System.

I am excited be part of the Beekeeping Innovations team, working to develop community, post secondary and government projects, helping to save the bees and improve beekeeping profitability through innovation, partnership and research.

I am a graduate of the Alberta University of the Arts with a degree in Visual Communications.  I have cultivated a blend of technical skill and creative vision. I am also a Visionary Artist creating multidimensional paintings that transcend traditional boundaries into new realms of perception.

Throughout my career, I've been able to balance graphic design with the freedom of fine arts, embracing the role of a versatile entrepreneur. This adaptability has allowed me to wear many hats.

My current focus is helping pioneer a revolutionary Bee-inspired 5D business model. This innovative approach emphasizes interconnectedness, adaptability, and long-term sustainability - qualities that mirror the remarkable social structure of honeybees. Just as these industrious creatures build thriving communities, my goal is to inspire others to see the world through this multidimensional lens, where creativity, community, and conscious business practices coexist in harmony.

I graduated from Lviv Polytechnic University with an M.Sc. in Computer Science and have spent over a decade building robust software solutions. I began my career in an R&D division, tackling cutting-edge challenges that laid the foundation for my full-stack expertise.

Since then, I’ve broadened my focus to large-scale systems and cloud-native architectures, mastering Java, Spring Boot, Flutter/Dart, and container orchestration to deliver reliable, high-performance applications.

At Bee Cube®, I lead the architecture and development of our Be the Bee™ Management System—integrating real-time sensor data, back-end microservices, and cross-platform mobile apps to empower beekeepers with actionable insights.

I've spent the last 18 years nurturing bees and honing my craft as a beekeeper. Alongside that, I've dedicated just as long to my career in IT, with a particular fondness for sensors and data logging.

You might call me a builder or a maker - I enjoy creating things with my hands and mind. These days, I'm putting my skills to use with an intriguing project: 3D printing queen cages for bulk queen overwintering in the Bee Cube®.

It's been a rewarding journey, blending my love for beekeeping with my technological expertise. There's always something new to learn and build in both fields.
